Stopped by the Deerfield Bakery while running errand to pick up treats for our friends.
E got to sample his first cookie- the ever-traditional smiley face!
I always remember my Dad taking us to the bakery to get this yummy cookie.
Something I want to instill in E is 'giving' and contributing regularly to the community & those in need.
Our township has an annual back-to-school drive for local children in need, which I think is a fabulous idea! I meant to start this during E's first year, but we're starting this year.
We did one backpack FULL of supplies and I loved shopping for it!
Hopefully we can contribute more each year, and I'd love to help out teachers too (goodness knows that they don't get paid nearly enough money to make ends meet!!!)

E knew that the supplies were for our ' school kid'.
Since E is into trains as well right now, and he loves his train library book, I thought I'd take him to see his first train.
Took him to Arlington station where I used to commute to the city every day- oh the memories.
We even browsed around town and stopped at my former wardrobe store, Ann Taylor Loft. Hmmm, gave that all up when I realized all babies do is spit-up all over your clothes.

Saved his first train ride for a time when we get to go with Daddy.
I really do miss having the convenience of trains, especially the 'L' in Evanston.
We went to Nibbles Play Cafe with them in the morning and then they came over to our clubhouse to go swimming later in the afternoon.
