Happy 5th Month Birthday, Baby C.!!!

Our precious Baby C is now 5 Months old, and full of grins and giggles.  We just went to another Pedi appointment, and he is bigger than we anticipated.  At 21.5lbs and 28.5in tall, our 5month old is the size of a 1year old, which would explain why he is wearing 12mth clothing!!!  Really glad we didn't stock up on 0-6mth clothing- Ha!  But, truly, I could cry about how fast our Baby is growing- I was hoping to 'baby' him for a long time.

Highlights from his 4th Months of Age:
*Able to sit for a few seconds, with toys to grasp inbetween his chunky thighs.
*Will pull himself forward when in reclined position.
*Lots of squeals, and laughs.
*Very ticklish when shoulders squeezed and tickled under chin.
*First camp trip.  Yes, we even got C out camping before his first birthday!  (will do a camp post soon).
*Blowing with his tongue.
*Squealing, especially when E. comes to play/entertain him.
*Hungry all-the-time.  He eats 8oz about every 3-4hrs, but seems hungry even between feedings.  Pedi says to hold off on solids for about another month; but, how do you feed a '1year old' 5month??
*Has reached the max of his baby infant carseat, so we just bought another Evenflo Symphony65 yesterday to transition him to in the next couple weeks.  E is so comfortable and secure in his carseat, so we didn't consider any others this time around.
Pretty much how our whole 5th Month photo session went.
Way more interested in what Big Brother is up to!
 Our 5 Month old!
Back in went the hands.
"Slurp, Slurp.  I might look hungry, but I just ate."
 Toesies!
I love how baby toes curl.
Not sure how I managed to get a picture without the 'hands'.

For as much as a distraction as he was, Big Brother kept C. smiling and laughing.
He even shared his toys with his baby brother.
The day we took these photos, the 26th, he sat up for the first time by himself for more than just a few seconds. I think it is the belly fat that keeps him upright- Ha.  As long as he has toys in between his legs he'll stay centered.  I just love curly-swirls my boys have on their heads.

 ALL Smiles.

Gone Fishin'

 Isn't this just too cute?!
Saw this on my friend Emmalee's Wooden Moose Creations site (see link on our blog) and just had to have one!  Can't get over how adorable and fun it is! And, Emmalee made and burned it herself!
Know our boys will enjoy this for years, and hopefully their kids as well!
She even monogrammed the handle as well!  The perfect touch.
If the pole & fish weren't cute enough, she made this carry sack to go on their little shoulders.
E has a blast learning his colors every day ;)
Now our boys can fish just like Mommy & Daddy.

"Domas da dain!! Choo-Choo!!"

Since E is at that age when little boys are infatuated with trains, I couldn't resist taking him to the Illinois Railroad Museum to see 'A Day Out with Thomas'.  We went on August 27th, but I'm just now getting around to posting pics of our fun day.  Even C. got to join in on the fun, along with our good friends, Tiffany and Eli!  There isn't a day when E doesn't want to watch Thomas on tv, or have me drive him downtown to see the Metra trains arriving at the station and the Union Pacific freight trains crawling along the empty lines.

"Deam!!!!!!"
Oh did E love seeing the steam coming from the smokestack.
Other big, 'real', trains.

E meeting up with this buddy, Eli.
Waiting in line for their Thomas train ride.
It was one hot, steaming ride.  Thank goodness the windows were open!

Loved the vintage advertisements in the passenger car, especially this one.
Reminds me of a frame we had up in our laundry room.  I'm the ironing goddess- ha!

E is now an official Thomas Jr. Engineer!

2 Sacks of Potatoes

Oh, Boy!!!  BIG BOY!!

We finally just bought a new scale, for the main purpose of getting an updated weight for C.
WELL.......
....there's an explanation why the little cutie is: starting to wear 12MONTH clothing, outgrowing his infant carseat, aching my back just lifting him out of his crib, no longer nursing and chowing through 8oz bottles, ......

20.5lbs  and  27.5in tall
at
4 MONTHS OF AGE

How big is he going to be when he IS 12 months?!?!?!
(Whatever happened to the petite and short babies we were expecting??)
I could just cry at how fast our 'baby' is growing.  I feel like I'm already missing out on his baby year just because of what happened, but now I can't even enjoy/cling on to his adorable baby clothes or baby gear.  Oh, so sad.

Off to the Races

We took both our boys for their first train ride AND first day at the track for an afternoon of horse racing!!  It was so sweet to take both the boys together to share 'firsts'.

 Happy Baby....
 ...then brother comes around...
 ...and the tears flow.
(Just keeping things real ;)

Within 2minutes of leaving the train station, this little one was fast alseep.
What a FUN day.
