What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

E's 1st year birthday party!

The big day.
Best attempt at a family picture.
We'll try to get another one.
The favors for all the kids coming to the party.
I made these by hand and sketched on the sailboat from the invites.
The favors: stickers, bubbles, goldfish crackers, and sailboat with little message.
The banner for the party, and future birthdays.
Very heavy though, had to tack it up.
Thank goodness I remembered to get pics of the decorations before most of the guests arrived.
Ribbons hanging from the foyer light.
Most of them were from his baby shower, and one is his nursery ribbon.
I used the footprint confetti from one of his baby showers.
After all the guests left, I found little footprints across the table- very cute.
All his cards and wishes from the party.
Cousin T and best bud L made their own- adorable!
Thanks, Everyone, for all the wonderful gifts, gift cards, and contributions towards his (NU) college education!!!!
This little guy has more toys than he could possibly need for the next 5 years :)
The beverage counter.
I made the little sign because I figured I'd be too busy to tell each person what we had- Ha.
The munchies.
I even had 'nut cups' (family tradition): peanuts, M&Ms, and gum drops. Usually we put them in cupcake cups but, since there were so many people, I just used two salad bowls.
The piece de resistance.
I used his nursery ribbon around the cupcake platter and cake tower.
The sails are the same from his invitations.
I made sure to lightly frost the cupcakes since I didn't want it to be too messy for the kiddos.
The center cake was E's 'mess' cake.
Going in....
... Taste... no like.
That's one sophisticated taste palatte.
Mom & Dad aren't big cake eaters either.
E and I both managed to get frosting on the sides of our faces.
What's this the b-day boy is playing with?!
We had two games for the kiddos.
This one is pin the sail on the sailboat, made by my adorable neice, J.
(the one who created pin the tail on the poodle for B's b-day)
The other game was a sailboat hunt in the playroom.
I made the sailboats out of sheets of foam.
Prizes were a sand bucket/shovel set and bucket of outside chalk.
His playmate/neighbor, V.
G-Aunt P. & Grandmom S. reading to the b-day boy.
E's 2nd cousins, M and R.
Our very good friends, Miss E, Baby 2, T, & E's best bud, L.
R, E, G-Uncle T.
Cousins M & J.
G-Aunt L standing under E's baby shower banner.
I figured out how to pin the sail onto the sailboat- find the center of the pic ;)
Thanks, J, for drawing the pole in the center.
Boys having fun.
"Where did everyone go??"
Thanks, Everyone, for coming and filling our house up with fun and laughter, and for celebrating E's 1st year with us! We are so blessed to have such great family, friends, & neighbors!
